Awareness events for Lyme Disease, Highlights, Writing

A truely incredible moment at the Scottish Parliment!

I was really delighted to be invited to the Scottish Parliment by Lyme disease UK, a non-profit organisation, who do brilliant work to help raise awareness for Lyme disease. It was such an adventure being well enough to travel to Edinburgh and to get to see the parliament at work. I never anticipated that my novel would help up before the Scottish Parliament MSP Maree Todd!

Lyme disease

Ticks can carry a nasty infection called Lyme disease. If it is not diagnosed or treated early it can develop into a debilitating and devastating chronic illness. I urge everyone to familiarize themselves with the ways to avoid tick bites – by wearing long-sleeved and light-coloured clothing, avoiding long grass, wearing insect repellent, ensuring that ticks are removed promptly, and treating dogs so that they do not get ticks. If you have had a tick bite and a bulls-eye rash appears, or you start feeling flu-like symptoms, you should go and see your GP.
